Symmetry offers hope. After amputation, or after trying other prosthetics systems, you may feel overwhelmed, isolated and even defeated.
The Symmetry liner system was born out of a patient's ongoing problems with prosthetics. With Symmetry's unique features, you can have control, comfort and balance. Our prosthetist are here to guide and encourage you, from your first consultation through your continued care in selecting and fitting your prosthesis. Remember, your questions are important to us. Please allow us the opportunity to answer any questions you have about this transition into a balanced life with Symmetry.
First, call any dealer office to schedule your initial appointment. We will send pre-admission forms to you, and you will need to complete these forms before your first office visit. At your first appointment, you will need to provide these completed forms, your insurance information or payment method and a prescription or other required documentation stating your need for prosthetic assistance. This process may be the same for first-time prosthetic patients or for those who have used prosthetics in the past.
During your first office visit, one of our financial assistants will answer your questions about payment sources such as insurance and help you determine the payment method you need to use. You will also meet with one of our prosthetists to discuss your options for regaining mobility through prosthetics. (Although you may prefer to adapt without prosthetics, explore the benefits of a well-fitting prosthesis before your make your final decision.)
After a thorough analysis of your current medical needs for prosthetics, you can expect the fitting process to take up to two weeks, to ensure the best possible fit for your residual limb, your level of activity and your body's needs.
Our relationship with you has just begun. As our technology advances and your needs change, we will continue our commitment to you, our patient. Prosthetic components undergo wear and tear. A slight weight change, even as little as 5 pounds, can result in discomfort for your residual limb. Revision surgery can change the shape or size of the socket location on your residual limb. To maintain your optimum level of mobility and comfort, trust your continued treatment to Symmetry.
